Very happy with the first impression, not to try.

This ball head just feels so well machined and solid.
Everything on it moves with a smooth, precise feel.
It's really a beautifully made piece of equipment.
The best part of it is that as you tighten the lock on the ball, it doesn't move a millimetre--which was always my complaint with my old ball head.
You'd frame a shot perfectly, then as as you moved the lever to lock off the ball, it would always move slightly.
You would always have to frame compensating for this last-second movement.
That is definitely not the case here.
Bonus:
There are two rotation points on this head--one at the top (i.e., above the ball) and one right at the base.
The one at the base is so smooth and resistant that you could use it for panning with video.
